Morning coffee

Good Morning Everyone!  This morning I am enjoying my morning cup of coffee and working on finishing touches to pattern writing.
Morning cup of Joe :)

This new design will be 2 different designs that are designed specifically to be knitting with Luna Grey Fiber Arts.  Jackie was gracious enough to dye yarn for.  The yarn was dyed a robins egg blue.  This spring we had a Robin that decided to make a nest on our sill by our front door.  The girls and I had fun watching every morning if she had laid her eggs.  She did lay 4 beautiful blue eggs.  I then sent Jackie the picture and she worked her magic and created the most beautiful Robins egg blue yarn for me.
Eggs the inspired the color for the design.
There will be two patterns in this collection.

The first one is a scarf that has a unique closure, that I am calling a "button hole" closure.  You will be able to slip one end of the scarf into loop that is created at the end of the scarf.  This will make a fuss free of wearing the scarf.  You can cinch it up around your neck for warmth on a chilly day, or let if fall loosely and wear as an accessory with your favorite top.  If your office is anything like mine at work, I will be wearing this often to keep me warm in the cool air conditioning, and cooler days of winter.

The second piece in this collection will be a slouchy hat.  This hat came about to use up what is left of the second skein of yarn,  This hat is loose fitting, which is perfect for wearing the slouchy style.  This light weight of the hat will not squish and flatten your hair style.  Perfect for the cooler weather that will be here before I really want it to be.  The lace pattern that is used for the scarf is incorporated into the hat design, making this a perfect fit with the scarf.  It will be the go too that your are looking for to kill the chill during the winter season.

Stay tuned for more sneak peek pictures!

Summer Knitting

Summer seems to be going by fast.  Seems just yesterday was my daughter Megan, last day of school. We are now beginning to prepare for her Sophomore year of High School.   It also seems like the cooler weather will be here sooner than I would like.  I love fall, however not looking forward to the season after, and the white stuff that will fall when that season comes.

This summer I decided that I would knit a few things to prepare me for fall.  I knitted my first, for me sweater.  I used a wonderful pattern designed by a good knitting friend of mine Sara Gresbach.  The pattern name is Isles of Hope.  I truly enjoyed every aspect of knitting this.  From the mesh lace back to the short row sleeve caps, I love everything about this sweater!

Sara even helped me take model pictures.  We had a great time on the trails at Pike Lake swatting the mosquitoes between shots.
